Abstract
Hypertension is the most common medical problem encountered during pregnancy, complicating 2-3% of pregnancies. Hypertension in pregnancy is not a single entity but comprises preexisting hypertension, gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia, pre-existing hypertension plus superimposed gestational hypertension with proteinuria and antenatally unclassifiable hypertension [1].
