Abstract
In this study, the lithium content of the wastes generated during the enrichment process of the boron mineral in the Kütahya Emet region in Turkey, which has the highest boron deposits in the world, was examined. Samples were taken, from the waste dam of the Hisarcık concentrator, the waste dam of the Espey concentrator, the Espey concentrator -25 mm solid waste, the Hisarcık concentrator -25 mm solid waste and the cake jips waste filter outlet point of the 2nd Boric Acid Factory. As a result of the chemical analysis, it was decided that the most appropriate examination place in the study of determining the lithium production method was the Hisarcık concentrator -25 mm solid waste outlet, since the lithium grade in the sample taken from the -25 mm caliber sieve outlet was in the range of 648/588 ppm. In the continuation of the study, the sample was sieved. As a result of sieving, 18% of the sample above 4 mm remained and the B2O3 grade was analyzed as 30%. The B2O3% grade decreases as the grain size gets smaller and it was analyzed as 1.57 %B2O3 under 45 microns. It has been determined that 76% of lithium is under 212 micron grain size and above 2.000 ppm lithium grade in solid waste sample below 4 mm and 66% of lithium is found in 40% by weight. Keywords
