Stokes phosphors in the KF-YF3 system for the development of composite materials for anti-counterfeiting
α-KY 3 F 10 and δ-KY 3 F 10 · nH 2 O single phases were obtained in the KF-YF 3 system through precipitation from aqueous solutions. The phase composition of the final product depends on the order of reagent addition: the addition of yttrium nitrate to potassium fluoride leads to α-KY 3 F 10 , while addition of potassium fluoride to yttrium nitrate results in hydrated δ-KY 3 F 10 · nH 2 O. The particle size for α-KY 3 F 10 was 42 nm, while for δ-KY 3 F 10 · nH 2 O – 400 nm. DSC-TG analysis showed a δ → α phase transition temperature at 430 ◦ C and allowed estimating the crystallization water content in the δ -phase sample (1.8 moles per formula unit). In the KF–YF 3 system, Stokes phosphors doped with 5 mol.% Eu 3+ were further synthesized. The KY 3 F 10 :Eu 3+ phosphor exhibited a high degree of crystallinity compared to that of KY 3 F 10 · nH 2 O:Eu 3+ . The composite material consisting of the polymer matrix lacquer and the KY 3 F 10 :Eu 3+ phosphor nanoparticles demonstrated intense luminescence in the visible range under UV excitation, showing high promise for anti-counterfeiting.

2,2-Diaryl-1,3,2-dioxaborines based on Curcumin: Synthesis, Photophysical Properties and Preliminary Biological Studies
Сyclocondensation of phenyl, ortho-bromophenyl, para-phenylphenyl, para-methoxycarbonylphenyl, para-tolyl and para-methoxyphenyl boronic acid with curcumin in the presence of K3PO4 upon refluxing in 1,4-dioxane for 24 h leads to the formation of curcumin-based 2,2-diaryl-1,3,2-dioxaborines in good yields. The absorption-emission spectra of the synthesized fluorescent conjugates and 1,3,2-dioxaborine with para-biphenyl boronic substituent demonstrated the highest quantum yield. Among the compounds studied, conjugate curcumin with para-methoxycarbonylphenyl boronic substituent demonstrated the highest cellular internalization via flow cytometry and laser confocal scanning microscopy in human breast adenocarcinoma cell line across all incubation times.
