A DeBERTa-Based Semantic Conversion Model for Spatiotemporal Questions in Natural Language
To address current issues in natural language spatiotemporal queries, including insufficient question semantic understanding, incomplete semantic information extraction, and inaccurate intent recognition, this paper proposes NL2Cypher, a DeBERTa (Decoding-enhanced BERT with disentangled attention)-based natural language spatiotemporal question semantic conversion model. The model first performs semantic encoding on natural language spatiotemporal questions, extracts pre-trained features based on the DeBERTa model, inputs feature vector sequences into BiGRU (Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit) to learn text features, and finally obtains globally optimal label sequences through a CRF (Conditional Random Field) layer. Then, based on the encoding results, it performs classification and semantic parsing of spatiotemporal questions to achieve question intent recognition and conversion to Cypher query language. The experimental results show that the proposed DeBERTa-based conversion model NL2Cypher can accurately achieve semantic information extraction and intent understanding in both simple and compound queries when using Chinese corpus, reaching an F1 score of 92.69%, with significant accuracy improvement compared to other models. The conversion accuracy from spatiotemporal questions to query language reaches 88% on the training set and 92% on the test set. The proposed model can quickly and accurately query spatiotemporal data using natural language questions. The research results provide new tools and perspectives for subsequent knowledge graph construction and intelligent question answering, effectively promoting the development of geographic information towards intelligent services.

An Algorithm for Simplifying 3D Building Models with Consideration for Detailed Features and Topological Structure
To tackle problems such as the destruction of topological structures and the loss of detailed features in the simplification of 3D building models, we propose a 3D building model simplification algorithm that considers detailed features and topological structures. Based on the edge collapse algorithm, the method defines the region formed by the first-order neighboring triangles of the endpoints of the edge to be collapsed as the simplification unit. It incorporates the centroid displacement of the simplification unit, significance level, and approximate curvature of the edge as influencing factors for the collapse cost to control the edge collapse sequence and preserve model details. Additionally, considering the unique properties of 3D building models, boundary edge detection and face overlay are added as constraints to maintain the model’s topological structure. The experimental results show that the algorithm is superior to the classic QEM algorithm in terms of preserving the topological structure and detailed features of the model. Compared to the QEM algorithm and the other two comparison algorithms selected in this paper, the simplified model resulting from this algorithm exhibit a reduction in Hausdorff distance, mean error, and mean square error to varying degrees. Moreover, the advantages of this algorithm become more pronounced as the simplification rate increases. The research findings can be applied to the simplification of 3D building models.

An Adaptive Construction Method of Hierarchical Spatio-Temporal Index for Vector Data under Peer-to-Peer Networks
Spatio-temporal indexing is a key technique in spatio-temporal data storage and management. Indexing methods based on spatial filling curves are popular in research on the spatio-temporal indexing of vector data in the Not Relational (NoSQL) database. However, the existing methods mostly focus on spatial indexing, which makes it difficult to balance the efficiencies of time and space queries. In addition, for non-point elements (line and polygon elements), it remains difficult to determine the optimal index level. To address these issues, this paper proposes an adaptive construction method of hierarchical spatio-temporal index for vector data. Firstly, a joint spatio-temporal information coding based on the combination of the partition and sort key strategies is presented. Secondly, the multilevel expression structure of spatio-temporal elements consisting of point and non-point elements in the joint coding is given. Finally, an adaptive multi-level index tree is proposed to realize the spatio-temporal index (Multi-level Sphere 3, MLS3) based on the spatio-temporal characteristics of geographical entities. Comparison with the XZ3 index algorithm proposed by GeoMesa proved that the MLS3 indexing method not only reasonably expresses the spatio-temporal features of non-point elements and determines their optimal index level, but also avoids storage hotspots while achieving spatio-temporal retrieval with high efficiency.

A fast quadtree‐based terrain crack locating method that accounts for adjacency relationships
The repair of terrain cracks is an important process in multi‐resolution three‐dimensional terrain visualization, and rapid and accurate pinpointing of cracks between terrain blocks is of the utmost importance for this process. The existing quadtree‐based crack locating methods are generally slow and inefficient, as they require the traversal of terrain quadtrees to locate terrain cracks. In this research, we propose a fast quadtree‐based terrain crack locating method that accounts for adjacency information. First, terrain quadtrees are constructed that contain information regarding adjacency relationships. Second, dynamic updating is performed for terrain quadtrees and their adjacency information. Finally, terrain cracks are located by using the adjacencies of the quadtree nodes. This proposed method was experimentally validated via the terrain data of a mountainous region in Sichuan Province. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can be used to efficiently and accurately locate terrain cracks with a strong performance in practical applications.

Smart City: A Shareable Framework and Its Applications in China
Smart City is a new concept that uses information and communication technology (ICT) to promote the smartification of urban construction, planning and services. Currently, a number of cities have conducted studies on smart cities, but they have mostly focused on analyzing the conceptual connotations or applications in specific domains and lack a shareable and integrated framework, which has led to significant barriers for individual smart projects. By analyzing the framework and applications of Smart City, this paper proposes a common, shareable and integrated conceptual framework. Then, based on this framework, it further proposes a unified portal platform that can balance multiple stakeholders, including the government, citizens and businesses, as well as for common, custom and other application modes. Finally, the implementation of Smart Weifang based on this platform is discussed. The applications indicate that this shareable platform can effectively eliminate the data and technological barriers between different smart city systems while also avoiding redundant financial investments. The investigation of this proposed framework and platform is highly significant for the unified construction of smart cities and the intensification of the hardware environment, thus representing a true achievement in the transition from ‘information islands’ to ‘information sharing and interconnection’ for urban informatization.
