Effect of the Core–Shell Exchange Coupling on the Approach to Magnetic Saturation in a Ferrimagnetic Nanoparticle
The generally accepted model of the magnetic structure of an iron oxide core–shell nanoparticle includes a single-domain magnetically ordered core surrounded by a layer with a frozen spin disorder. Due to the exchange coupling between the shell and core, the spin disorder should lead to nonuniform magnetization in the core. Suppression of this inhomogeneity by an external magnetic field causes the nonlinear behavior of the magnetization as a function of the field in the region of the approach to magnetic saturation. The equation proposed to describe this effect is tested using a micromagnetic simulation. Analysis of the approach to magnetic saturation of iron oxide nanoparticles at different temperatures using this equation can be used to estimate the temperature evolution of the core–shell coupling energy and the size of the uniformly magnetized nanoparticle core and the temperature behavior of this size.

Magnetic Properties of FeNi/Cu-Based Lithographic Rectangular Multilayered Elements for Magnetoimpedance Applications
The rectangular elements in magnetoimpedance (MI) configuration with a specific nanocomposite laminated structure based on FeNi and Cu layers were prepared by lift-off lithographic process. The properties of such elements are controlled by their shape, the anisotropy induced during the deposition, and by effects associated with the composite structure. The characterizations of static and dynamic properties, including MI measurements, show that these elements are promising for sensor applications. We have shown that competition between the shape anisotropy and the in-plane induced anisotropy of the element material is worth taking into account in order to understand the magnetic behavior of multilayered rectangular stripes. A possibility of the dynamic methods (ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonance) to describe laminated planar elements having a non-periodic modulation of both structure and magnetic parameters of a system is demonstrated. We show that the multilayered structure, which was originally designed to prevent the development of a “transcritical” state in magnetic layers and to reach the required thickness, also induces the effects that hinder the achievement of the goal, namely an increase in the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energy.

Heating of magnetic powders in the ferromagnetic resonance mode at a frequency of 8.9 GHz
Nickel ferrite nanoparticles 4 nm in size were synthesized by chemical deposition. Subsequent annealing at T=700oC for 5 h led to an increase in the particle size to 63 nm. The Mossbauer spectra and the frequency-field dependences of ferromagnetic resonance have been measured. It has been shown that freshly prepared powders are superparamagnetic at room temperature. The kinetic dependences of the heating of nanoparticles in the ferromagnetic resonance mode at a frequency of 8.9 GHz were measured. It was found that the maximum rate of temperature increase in this mode for a ferromagnetic powder is an order of magnitude greater than for the superparamagnetic state (1.2 and 0.13 K/s, respectively). The latter is determined by the saturation magnetization of the studied powders. Keywords: ferromagnetic resonance, superparamagnetic powders, relaxation frequency, frequency-field dependence, heating of powders.

Study of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles coated with silicon oxide by ferromagnetic method
Magnetic nanoparticles of magnetite with a size of ~8 nm synthesized with a different type of coating were studied by ferromagnetic resonance in the temperature range from 7 to 300 K. The features of the experimental temperature dependences of the parameters of the ferromagnetic resonance curve (the magnitude of the resonant field, line width and intensity) and their approximation allowed us to estimate the values of characteristic temperatures. Firstly, the value of the Vervey temperature and the dependence of its value on the type of coating were determined. Secondly, the temperature of transition of nanoparticles to the superparamagnetic state (blocking temperature) and the temperature range within which the magnetic structure of the outer shell of the magnetic nanoparticle is in the spin glass state are established Keywords: iron oxide nanoparticles, ferromagnetic resonance, superparamagnetism, blocking temperature.

Advanced Characterization of FeNi-Based Films for the Development of Magnetic Field Sensors with Tailored Functional Parameters
Magnetometry and ferromagnetic resonance are used to quantitatively study magnetic anisotropy with an easy axis both in the film plane and perpendicular to it. In the study of single-layer and multilayer permalloy films, it is demonstrated that these methods make it possible not only to investigate the average field of perpendicular and in-plane anisotropy, but also to characterize their inhomogeneity. It is shown that the quantitative data from direct integral and local measurements of magnetic anisotropy are consistent with the direct and indirect estimates based on processing of the magnetization curves. The possibility of estimating the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy constant from the width of stripe domains in a film in the transcritical state is demonstrated. The average in-plane magnetic anisotropy field of permalloy films prepared by magnetron sputtering onto a Corning glass is almost unchanged with the thickness of a single-layer film. The inhomogeneity of the perpendicular anisotropy field for a 500 nm film is greater than that for a 100 nm film, and for a multilayer film with a total permalloy thickness of 500 nm, it is greater than that for a homogeneous film of the same thickness.

Spin-wave resonance of exchange-coupled three-layers FeNi/Cu/FeNi planar structures
The spectrums of standing exchange spin waves into magnetic sandwich Ni80Fe20/Cu(tCu)/Ni80Fe20 were studied by spin-wave resonance method. The layer of diamagnetic Cu depending on its thickness tCu provided both positive and negative exchange interaction between ferromagnetic layers. It was shown that spin waves modes of SWR spectra which are described by well-known relation Hacres(n)~ n2 are standing acoustic exchange spin oscillations of individual ferromagnetic layers, regardless of a sign of interlayer exchange couple. It was detected that spin modes which are optical satellites of acoustic SWR peaks are described by the dependence of the resonance field Hopres(n)~ n5/2 or Hopres(n)~ n2 depending on the boundary conditions established on inner interfaces. Keywords: spin-wave resonance, surface anisotropy constant, exchange interaction constant, interlayer exchange interaction.

Temperature dependences of the interlayer exchange constant of three-layer FeNi/Dy/FeNi films studied by the resonance method
Three-layer FeNi/Dy/FeNi films were studied by ferromagnetic resonance method in the temperature range from 4 to 300 K. The acoustic and optical peaks recorded in microwave spectra demonstrate the presence of exchange coupling between the ferromagnetic FeNi layers of the planar system and allow us to establish the sign and value of the constant of the interlayer exchange interaction. Temperature dependences of the interlayer exchange interaction constant for three-layer films with intermediate layer thicknesses Dy 5 and 10 nm show a number of features (change in sign and extremum point), which reflect transformations of the magnetic structure Dy. Keywords: interlayer exchange coupling, helical magnetic structure, ferromagnetic resonance, three-layer films.
