Comparative study on the performance of composite beams with detachable bolts and studs under negative moment
This study investigates the flexural performance of prefabricated composite beams under negative moment, utilizing detachable bolt connectors and ultra‐high performance concrete (UHPC). Experimental results demonstrate that the UHPC‐bolt synergy significantly enhances structural behavior: UHPC increases the cracking load by nearly 50% compared with the normal concrete specimen (N‐SD) and promotes micro‐cracking, while bolt interface slip releases tensile stress, reducing crack density and width. Bolt‐connected specimens exhibit unique stiffness self‐restoration and improved ductility due to a bearing‐type load transfer mechanism. The effective width and a required pre‐tightening force to ensure slip‐before‐cracking were determined. Post‐test deconstruction confirmed excellent demountability. Theoretical models for cracking and ultimate loads show good agreement with test data, supporting this system as a superior solution for crack‐resistant and serviceable prefabricated composite bridges.

Analysis of The Working Performance of Large Curvature Prestressed Concrete Box Girder Bridges
Based on numerical shape functions and the structural stressing state theory, the mechanical properties of the curved prestressed concrete box girder (CPCBG) bridge model under different loading cases are presented. First, the generalized strain energy density (GSED) obtained from the measured strain data is used to represent the stressing state pattern of the structure; then, the stressing state of the concrete section is analyzed by plotting the strain and stress fields of the bridge model. The stressing state pattern and strain fields of the CPCBG are shown to reveal its mechanical properties. In addition, the measured concrete strain data are interpolated by the non-sample point interpolation (NPI) method. The strain and stress fields of the bridge model have been plotted to analyze the stressing state of the concrete cross-section. The internal forces in the concrete sections are calculated by using interpolated strains. Finally, the torsional effects are simulated by measuring the displacements to show the torsional behavior of the cross-section. The analysis and comparison of the internal force and strain fields reveal the common and different mechanical properties of the bridge model. The results of the analysis of the curved bridge model provide a reference for the future rational design of bridge projects.

Stressing State Analysis of Reinforcement Concrete Beams Strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic
This paper investigated the working behavior characteristics of six reinforcement concrete (RC) beams subjected to bending based on the numerical shape function (NSF) method and structural stressing state theory. Firstly, the structural stressing state mode is expressed based on the generalized strain energy density (GSED) derived from the measured strain data. Then, one of the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP)-strengthened RC beams is taken as an example and the leap characteristics of RC beam’s stressing state are detected by applying the Mann–Kendall (M–K) criterion, updating the existing definition of the structural failure load. Accordingly, the stressing state modes and strain fields of the CFRP-strengthened RC beam are proposed to reveal their leap characteristics. Furthermore, through comparing the working performance of six RC beams, the effects of different strengths and different reinforcement ratios on CFRP strengthening performance are investigated. Finally, the NSF method is applied to reasonably interpolate the limited strain data for further revealing the stressing state characteristics of the RC beams. The research results explore a new analysis method to conduct an accurate estimation of the structural failure load and provide a reference for the future design of CFRP-strengthened RC beams.

Investigation of Residual Bearing Capacity of Corroded Reinforced Concrete Short Columns under Impact Load Based on Nondestructive Testing
This paper investigates the damage and residual bearing capacity of corroded reinforced concrete (RC) short columns after impact and presents a method for evaluating the residual bearing capacity of RC short columns by nondestructive testing. Firstly, accelerated corrosion test and drop hammer impact test were carried out to obtain specimens under different impact loads and corrosion rates. Then, the damage caused by corrosion and impact loads was evaluated by supersonic wave aided nondestructive test. Through the damage factor, the influence of corrosion rate and impact loads on the specimen was revealed, and the calculation method of corrosion rate and impact velocity was proposed. Finally, according to the bearing capacity test results, the influence factors of reinforcement, concrete, and impact were introduced into the bearing capacity calculation equation. Considering the relationship between the residual bearing capacity of RC short columns and the damage factor, an improved formula for calculating the residual bearing capacity of corroded RC short columns under impact loads was proposed. This work lays the foundation for further research on mechanical properties of corroded RC structures under impact loads.
