Sistem Çağrısı Verilerinde Derin Öğrenme Mimarileri Kullanılarak Anomali Tespitinin Değerlendirilmesi: Performans ve Enerji Verimliliği

    by İbRahim Şanlialp, Mehmet Yıldız

Design of Simulation Program for Analysis of Shortest Path Algorithms in Grid-Based Path Planning

    by İbRahim Şanlialp, İbrahim Yandı

This study examines the analysis of algorithms used to find the shortest path between cells with different terrain types and elevation levels on a map comprising hexagonal cells ranging from 91 to 7651. A simulation program is designed for the analysis. The simulation program is implemented using the Unity 3D game engine and the C# programming language. The Unity game engine is used to design a map comprising hexagonal grid-based cells and visualize the simulation results of the shortest path finding algorithms. Each cell has neighborhood connections that determine the movement cost between cells. A smart agent is included in the simulation within the scope of the study. The smart agent perceives its environment, evaluates terrain type and elevation factors, and attempts to find the shortest path between two points with the lowest transition cost according to the selected algorithm. The performance of the algorithms is compared in terms of computation time, number of cells visited, and transition cost. The results demonstrate that the heuristic algorithms achieve high performance in terms of computation time and number of cells visited. However, it is seen that they cannot achieve the same success in terms of transition costs.

Energy Efficiency Analysis of Code Refactoring Techniques for Green and Sustainable Software in Portable Devices

by İbrahim Şanlıalp, Muhammed Maruf Öztürk, Tuncay Yiğit

Code refactoring is a time-consuming and effort-intensive process that is applied for making improvements to source codes. There exist several refactoring techniques to improve software quality. Some of them aim to reduce the energy consumption of the software. However, the combination of applied refactoring techniques is crucial to the success rate. In addition, to provide sustainable services on portable devices such as mobile phones and laptops, which rely on batteries, improving and optimizing the energy efficiency is important. This study focuses on examining the effect of code refactoring techniques on energy consumption. A total of 25 different source codes of applications programmed in the C# and Java languages are selected for the study, and combinations obtained from refactoring techniques are applied to these source codes. The combinations applied are analyzed using the maintainability index. Power consumption estimation tools are used to measure the energy consumption of the original and refactored codes. The results show that the combinations significantly improve the software’s energy efficiency. The results will provide a better understanding of the relationship between the energy efficiency of software and refactoring techniques. Moreover, they will help developers to improve their object-oriented code in terms of both energy efficiency and sustainability.
