7E analysis and sustainability evaluation of dual-passage solar thermal air collector with staggered turbulators
The present research investigates and evaluates the performance of a dual-passage solar thermal air collector integrated with a staggered turbulator configuration using an analytical approach. Based on an analysis of energy and exergy, the impact of the staggered turbulator geometrical parameters on the dual-passage solar thermal air collector performance is evaluated analytically, and the findings have been compared with a traditional smooth plate. The current investigation analytically assesses the exergetic, effective, and thermal efficiencies of a dual-passage solar thermal air collector roughened with single V-shaped staggered baffles. A parametric design and temperature rise parameter are used to assess these efficiencies in order to accurately forecast the dual-passage solar thermal air collector energy consumption. Economic analysis, environmental analysis, enviroeconomic analysis, exergoeconomic analysis, exergoenvironmental analysis, and sustainability index are also examined by energetic and exergetic analytical research results. In accordance with the dual-passage solar thermal air collector system’s economic evaluation, the energy cost is determined to be 0.077 USD kWh −1 . The exergoeconomic and exergoenvironmental parameters are calculated to be 0.1716 kWh USD −1 and 0.5305 tons of CO 2 over its life cycle. According to the enviroeconomic and environmental analysis, the dual-passage solar thermal air collector can mitigate 39.95 tons of CO 2 over its life cycle (10 years), and the amount of earned carbon credit obtained is 579.27 USD.

Entropy-based multi-criteria decision optimization of dimpled solar air heater duct using WASPAS and MAIRCA models
The purpose of the current examination is to optimize the geometric parameters of dimple-shaped roughened solar air heater (DSRSAH), for which a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach has been developed. It balances the advantages of improved heat transfer (HT) with the drawbacks of higher frictional losses from artificial roughness on the absorber plate. To evaluate the performance of 27 experimental configurations of DSRSAH, the entropy-weighted WASPAS and MAIRCA models are utilised. Pitch ratio (\(\text{p}/e\)) varied from 10 to 20, relative roughness height (\(\text{e}/{D}_{h}\)) from 0.021 to 0.036 and arc angle (\(\alpha\)) from 45º-75º during analyses. For providing a comprehensive performance assessment, the evaluation criteria include the Nusselt number (\({Nu}_{DSR}\)), friction factor (\({f}_{DSR}\)), and thermohydraulic performance parameter (\({\eta}_{THPP}\)). In order to compare improvements in HT and pressure drop to a smooth duct, ratio \({Nu}_{DSR}/{Nu}_{SM}\) and \({f}_{DSR}/{f}_{SM}\) are used. Entropy approach is a strategy that enables the objective of assigning weights based on the dispersion of data. The configuration with highest effectiveness is \(\text{e}/{D}_{h}=0.036\), \(\text{p}/e=10\), and \(\alpha\) = 60°. Furthermore, the reliability and robustness of the selected design is confirmed by sensitivity analysis.- 17 April 2026

Waste-Derived Composite Selection for Sustainable Automotive Brake Friction Materials Using Novel MEREC-RAM Decision Framework
This study aims to identify the most suitable slag waste-filled polymer composite for automotive braking applications. It employs a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model that integrates the “method based on the removal effects of criteria” (MEREC) and the “root assessment method” (RAM) method. Eight slag waste-filled polymer composites, evaluated using seven performance-defining criteria, were considered in the MCDM analysis. The performance evaluation criteria included the friction coefficient, wear, friction fluctuations, friction stability, fade-recovery aspects, and rise in disk temperature. The criteria were weighted through the MEREC approach, which identified fade% (0.2890) and wear (0.2829) as the most important attributes in the assessment. The RAM was employed to rank the alternatives and suggested that the composite alternative with 60 wt.% slag waste and 5 wt.% coir fiber proved to be the best composition for automotive braking applications. The results were validated using nine MCDM models and Spearman correlation coefficients, which showed that the ranking of alternatives was consistent and stable even when the normalization steps of MEREC were swapped. Statistical validation demonstrated a strong predictive accuracy (p < 0.05) with a strong correlation coefficient (>0.8) alongside a minimal mean absolute error. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis was performed by examining several weight situations to determine whether the priority weights influenced the ranking of the composite alternatives. The findings from both the correlation and sensitivity analyses confirm the proposed hybrid MEREC-RAM model’s consistency and effectiveness.

Solar Thermal Collector Roughened with S-Shaped Ribs: Parametric Optimization Using AHP-MABAC Technique
The current examination used a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach to optimize the roughness parameters of S-shaped ribs (SSRs) in a solar thermal collector (STC) duct using air as the working fluid. Different SSRs were tested to identify the combination of parameters resulting in the best performance. Geometrical parameters such as relative roughness pitch () varied from 4 to 12, relative roughness height () from 0.022 to 0.054, arc angle () from 30° to 75°, and relative roughness width () from 1 to 4. The Nusselt number () and friction factor (), findings which impact the STC performance, rely on SSRs. The performance measurements show that no combination of SSR parameters lead to the best enhancement heat transfer rate at low enhancement in the friction. So, a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making strategy using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) for criterion significance and Multi Attributive Border Approximation Area Comparison (MABAC) for alternative ranking was used to determine which combination of geometrical parameters will result in the optimum performance of a roughened STC. This work employs a hybrid MCDM technique to optimise the effectiveness of an STC roughened with SSRs. To optimize the SSR design parameters, this study used the hybrid AHP-MABAC technique for analytical assessment of a roughened STC. The optimization results showed that the STC roughened with SSRs achieved the optimum performance at = 8, = 0.043, = 60° and = 3.Open AccessSolar Thermal Collector Roughened with S-Shaped Ribs: Parametric Optimization Using AHP-MABAC Technique
