Optimization Research of Heterogeneous 2D-Parallel Lattice Boltzmann Method Based on Deep Computing Unit
Currently, research on the lattice Boltzmann method mainly focuses on its numerical simulation and applications, and there is an increasing demand for large-scale simulations in practical scenarios. In response to this situation, this study successfully implemented a large-scale heterogeneous parallel algorithm for the lattice Boltzmann method using OpenMP, MPI, Pthread, and OpenCL parallel technologies on the “Dongfang” supercomputer system. The accuracy and effectiveness of this algorithm were verified through the lid-driven cavity flow simulation. The paper focused on optimizing the algorithm in four aspects: Firstly, non-blocking communication was employed to overlap communication and computation, thereby improving parallel efficiency. Secondly, high-speed shared memory was utilized to enhance memory access performance and reduce latency. Thirdly, a balanced computation between the central processing unit and the accelerator was achieved through proper task partitioning and load-balancing strategies. Lastly, memory access efficiency was improved by adjusting the memory layout. Performance testing demonstrated that the optimized algorithm exhibited improved parallel efficiency and scalability, with computational performance that is 4 times greater than before optimization and 20 times that of a 32-core CPU.

Prediction of Sea Surface Chlorophyll-a Concentrations Based on Deep Learning and Time-Series Remote Sensing Data
Accurate prediction of future chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentrations is of great importance for effective management and early warning of marine ecological systems. However, previous studies primarily focused on chlorophyll-a inversion and reconstruction, while methods for predicting Chl-a concentrations remain limited. To address this issue, we adopted four deep learning approaches, including Convolutional LSTM Network (ConvLSTM), Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-LSTM), Eidetic 3D LSTM (E3D-LSTM), and Self-Attention ConvLSTM (SA-ConvLSTM) models, to predict Chl-a over the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea (YBS) in China. Furthermore, 14 environmental variables obtained from the remote sensing data of Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and ECMWF Reanalysis v5 (ERA5) were utilized to predict the Chl-a concentrations in the study area. The results showed that all four models performed satisfactorily in predicting Chl-a concentrations in the YBS, with SA-ConvLSTM exhibiting a closer approximation to true values. Furthermore, we analyzed the impact of the Self-Attention Memory Module (SAM) on the prediction results. Compared to the ConvLSTM model, the SA-ConvLSTM model integrated with the SAM module better captured subtle large-scale variations within the study area. The SA-ConvLSTM model exhibited the highest prediction accuracy, and the one-month Pearson correlation coefficient reached 0.887. Our study provides an available approach for anticipating Chl-a concentrations over a large area of sea.

Study on the Spatial and Temporal Distribution of Urban Vegetation Phenology by Local Climate Zone and Urban–Rural Gradient Approach
Understanding variations in the temporal and spatial distribution of vegetation phenology is essential for adapting to and mitigating future climate change and urbanization. However, there have been limited vegetation phenology studies within small-scale areas such as urban environments over the past decades. Therefore, the present study focuses on Jinan city, Shandong Province, China as the study area and employs a more refined local climate zone (LCZ) approach to investigate spatial and temporal variations in vegetation phenology. The three phenological indicators used in this study from 2007 to 2018, namely, the start of growing season (SOS), the end of growing season (EOS), and the length of growing season (LOS), were provided by MODIS satellite data. The SOS, EOS, and LOS were superimposed on the LCZ and urban–rural gradient to analyze the changes in vegetation phenology, and the applicability of these two analysis methods in the study of urban vegetation phenology was compared by the honest significant difference test. We found that the SOS, EOS, and LOS of vegetation in the study area generally showed an advance, delay, and extension trend, respectively. The means of the SOS and EOS along different LCZ types varied noticeably more than those along urban–rural gradients. In 2016, 77.5%, 80.0%, and 75.8% of LCZ pairs indicated statistically significant differences for SOS, EOS, and LOS, respectively. This study provides a new perspective for the study of urban vegetation phenology which can help in management of urban-scale environments, identification of areas rich in biodiversity, and conservation and restoration of biodiversity in urban areas.

Heterogeneous Parallel Implementation of Large-Scale Numerical Simulation of Saint-Venant Equations
Large-scale floods are one of the major events that impact the national economy and people’s livelihood every year during the flood season. Predicting the factors of flood evolution is a worldwide problem. We use the two-dimensional Saint-Venant equations as an example and for high-performance computing in modelling the flood behavior. Discretization of the two-dimensional Saint-Venant equations with initial and boundary conditions with the finite difference method in the explicit leapfrog scheme is carried out. Afterwards, we employed a large-scale heterogeneous parallel solution on the “SunRising-1” supercomputer system using MPI, OpenMP, Pthread, and OpenCL runtime libraries. On this basis, we applied communication/calculation overlapping and the local memory acceleration to optimize the performance. Finally, various performance tests of the parallel scheme are carried out from different perspectives. We have found this method is efficient and recommend this approach be used in solving systems of partial differential equations similar to the Saint-Venant equations.

Analysis of ecological environment of riparian zone based on airborne hyperspectral imaging: take the Liaohe River section of Liaozhong
As one of the most advanced subjects in remote sensing field, hyperspectral plays an important role in Earth observation. Hyperspectral has the characteristic of " combination of image and spectrum " , which contains hundreds of bands and contains abundance spectral information. In recent years, with the development of airborne hyperspectral technology, it has achieved many results in precision agriculture, geological mapping, ecological environment surveys and so on. However, due to the development of payload technology, it is difficult for traditional hyperspectral data to have high spatial resolution as well as high spectral resolution without affecting the efficiency of data acquisition. Due to the relative lack of spatial information, hyperspectral data have been paid more attention to the spectrum itself, and the significance of spatial-spectral correlation information is often ignored. In terms of applications, there are few cases of hyperspectral data in urban remote sensing applications and local scale ecological environmental monitoring. Based on the data obtained from the high-resolution airborne hyperspectral loading developed recently in our country, the present situation of the riparian eco-environment in the Liaohe River region of the Liaozhong was analyzed. Using multi-scale fully convolutional neural network to extract the feature information of the data space spectrum. Based on the classification of water, crops, forest, grass and buildings in the demonstration area, the degradation of riparian zone caused by human activities in the demonstration area was analyzed. Green Index, Light Utilization Index and leaf pigment index were inversed by hyperspectral method, and the health status of forest and grass in the demonstration area was classified. The results show that the high resolution hyperspectral data can not only describe the spatial distribution of the objects, but also retrieve the health status of the objects, which is of great significance to the refinement of the ecological Environmental monitoring in local areas.
