Determinants of medical crowdfunding information sharing attitudes through integrated source credibility and technology acceptance models
Medical crowdfunding has emerged as an important alternative for financing healthcare expenses, enabling individuals to raise funds through donation-based campaigns. While social media facilitates campaign outreach, concerns regarding privacy, misinformation, and trust hinder information-sharing behaviors, limiting campaign effectiveness. This study contributes to this understanding by integrating Source Credibility Theory and the Technology Acceptance Model to examine how expertise, trustworthiness, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use influence attitudes toward sharing medical crowdfunding information. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 345 young social media users in China, with data analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that expertise does not directly impact sharing attitudes but influences them through perceived usefulness, whereas trustworthiness exerts both significant direct and indirect effects on sharing attitudes. Additionally, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use positively predict sharing attitudes, highlighting the importance of practical value and platform usability in driving user engagement. The findings advance understanding of credibility-technology interactions in medical crowdfunding information sharing, though the youth-focused sample limits generalizability. This integrated approach offers promising directions for optimizing campaign engagement strategies through balanced credibility signaling and enhanced platform usability.

A Systematic Literature Review of Theological Reflections and Institutional Responses in Religious Engagements with AI Ethics
The ethical challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI) have drawn growing attention from religious communities, yet existing scholarship remains fragmented across traditions and technologies. This chapter presents a systematic literature review of 37 studies (1986–2025), examining how religious traditions—including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, and African Theology—engage with AI ethics. Using PRISMA guidelines and thematic synthesis, it identifies dominant trends such as the prevalence of Islamic and Christian perspectives, limited engagement with emerging AI technologies, and a lack of theoretically grounded frameworks. Recurring ethical concerns include human dignity, algorithmic bias, and data privacy, while major gaps involve religious diversity, youth perspectives, and empirical research. By mapping this evolving field, the chapter advocates for a more pluralistic, critical, and action-oriented research agenda that integrates underrepresented traditions, responds to technological shifts, and connects theological principles to practical ethical challenges.

Health inequities in medical crowdfunding: a systematic review
Background: Medical crowdfunding has emerged as a popular strategy to offset healthcare expenses in contexts of limited insurance coverage. While often framed as a democratizing and accessible financial tool, growing evidence indicates that success is unevenly distributed, raising concerns about its role in exacerbating health inequities. Methods: A systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, drawing from PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus. Of 1,462 screened records, 33 studies met the inclusion criteria. Guided by the PROGRESS framework, we extracted data on socioeconomic determinants of health disparities. An inductive content analysis was employed to identify how equity was assessed across studies. Results: We identified three key categories of metrics used to assess equity in medical crowdfunding: funding outcomes, campaign visibility, and donor participation. Across these domains, substantial disparities were observed. Campaigns in rural or economically disadvantaged areas tended to have lower success rates. Racial and ethnic inequities were consistently documented, with non-white individuals receiving fewer and smaller donations than white counterparts. Gender disparities were complex, especially in transgender-related campaigns. Socioeconomic status and educational attainment were significantly associated with outcomes, accompanied by differences in access to social capital and the ability to craft persuasive narratives. In regions with high medical debt or limited insurance coverage, more crowdfunding campaigns appeared, but with lower overall success. These inequities were shaped and reinforced by platform algorithms and design features that privileged users with preexisting advantages. Conclusions: Rather than serving as a corrective to healthcare access gaps, medical crowdfunding often reflects and reinforces structural inequities. These findings challenge its portrayal as an equitable financing solution and highlight the need for policy interventions to ensure fairer access to healthcare resources.

Willingness to share information on social media: a systematic literature review (2020–2024)
Introduction: The rapid advancement of Web 2.0 technologies, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has fundamentally transformed information sharing behaviors on social media. This transformation necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing information sharing willingness in the digital era. Methods: This study systematically reviews 66 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2024, focusing on key research topics, theoretical frameworks, and methodologies used to examine information sharing willingness on social media. Following the PRISMA guidelines, articles were identified and analyzed using keyword matching, thematic categorization, and expert review. Results: Our findings reveal four core research themes: general information sharing, health-related information sharing, false information dissemination, and crisis information sharing. These themes are examined through three primary theoretical perspectives: motivational-driven theories, cognitive-processing theories, and social-relational theories. The study identifies key factors influencing information sharing willingness across motivational, cognitive, and social dimensions. Methodologically, survey-based studies dominate this field, with experimental designs providing supplementary insights.Discussion: This review contributes to the literature by providing a holistic synthesis of the current research landscape, identifying gaps in knowledge, and proposing potential directions for social media platform operators and policymakers to consider. Future research directions are proposed to address unresolved challenges and advance the theoretical and methodological understanding of information sharing behavior in the digital era.

The Travel Trend in The Age of TikTok: How Older Chinese Tourists Choose Their Travel Destination – an Empirical Study Using the UTAUT2 Model
This study explores the influence of the short video platform TikTok on the travel decision-making process of older Chinese tourists, particularly in destination selection. With the widespread popularity of social media and short video content, the older population has gradually become an important segment in the tourism market. Grounded in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2), this study investigates the extent to which TikTok shapes and facilitates travel decisions among this population. Through a questionnaire survey and structural equation modeling analysis, the results show that TikTok's performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and hedonic motivation significantly affect the travel decisions of older tourists. At the same time, older tourists are influenced by social influence and habit. However, the study also reveals that facilitating convenience has no significant impact on the behavioral intentions of older tourists, indicating that for older tourists accustomed to using technology, facilitating convenience are not decisive factors. This study enriches the application of short video platforms in the travel decision-making of the older, especially the marketing potential of the emerging TikTok platform. The findings provide practical guidance for tourism marketers to better utilize short video platforms to attract older tourists and influence their travel decisions.

A Comparative Analysis of Crisis Communication Strategies: Handling Faculty Academic Misconduct and Sexual Misconduct in Chinese Higher Education Institutions
Chinese higher education institutions are facing an increasing threat of campus crises, especially the academic and sexual misconduct of faculty members, which have caused severe impacts on the reputation and development of universities and colleges. Crisis communication strategies are one of the critical measures for universities and colleges to eliminate or mitigate crises and maintain their reputation and growth. However, few studies are exploring the crisis communication strategies employed by Chinese universities and colleges in response to crises. This study employs quantitative content analysis to examine the crisis communication strategies utilized by Chinese higher education institutions in response to faculty academic misconduct and sexual misconduct crises. The study specifically focuses on the institutions’ responses on official platforms. Applying the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) and Image Repair Theory (IRT) frameworks, this study examines the official statements released by Chinese colleges and universities in response to allegations made on official platforms such as Sina Weibo, WeChat, and official websites. Crises investigated belong to the preventable crisis type, which is defined by instances of organizational wrongdoing and concerns caused by human actions. The results reveal five commonly employed crisis communication strategies: corrective action , adjusting information, reminder, bolstering, and victimage , with a notable emphasis on adjusting information and corrective action being the most frequently utilized approach for academic and sexual misconduct crises. There are correlations between the type of crisis (academic and sexual misconduct events) and the application of specific crisis communication strategies ( denial and excuse ). One significant finding is the limited differentiation observed between crisis response strategies for academic and sexual misconduct crises within the Chinese context. IRT and SCCT have partial adaptability in the non-profit field of China’s higher education, among which IRT exhibits wider applicability than SSCT. This study contributes to crisis management teams and policymakers recognizing and adapting strategies based on academic and sexual misconduct events, promoting more effective crisis management and prevention measures.
